In the aftermath of Hurricane Matthew, many families in Anba Mòn faced immense challenges. Livelihoods had been disrupted, resources were limited, and opportunities for recovery were scarce.
Recognizing the need for solutions that extended beyond immediate relief, Boujonnen Foundation launched the Goat Raising Program as a way to help families rebuild with dignity and hope.
The program began with the distribution of eight goats. Over time, through community stewardship and a shared commitment to sustainability, that initial investment grew into a thriving community resource that continues to benefit families today.

For many rural families, limited economic opportunities can make recovery from unexpected events especially difficult.
Challenges often include:
Limited sources of household income
Reduced access to nutritious food
Vulnerability to environmental and economic disruptions
Barriers to rebuilding sustainable livelihoods
The Goat Raising Program is designed to create opportunities that extend beyond a single donation.
Families participating in the program receive resources and support that encourage responsible stewardship and community collaboration.

Providing families with goats to support household nutrition and income generation.

Encouraging the exchange of experiences and best practices among participating families.

Helping ensure the health and sustainability of the growing community herd.

Promoting a shared commitment to expanding opportunities for future participants.
What began with eight goats has grown into a lasting example of community resilience.
Through A.P.A.M., families are gaining access to opportunities that help strengthen food security, build resilience, and support long-term community well-being.

Every goat represents more than livestock, it represents possibility.
Families participating in the program have used these opportunities to support household needs, strengthen food security, and invest in their futures.
The goats helped us begin again. What started as support during a difficult time became a source of hope and opportunity for our family.
The Goat Raising Program is built on the belief that one investment can generate benefits that extend throughout an entire community.

The Goat Raising Program is about more than goats.
It is about helping families rebuild after hardship, strengthening community resilience, and creating opportunities that can be passed from one generation to the next.
The program reflects Boujonnen Foundation's commitment to sustainable, community-led development rooted in dignity and hope.
Your support can help expand opportunities for families working to build stronger and more resilient futures.
