Growing Resilient Communities

A.P.A.M. Haiti

Growing Food, Growing Futures.

The Story of A.P.A.M.

Where Our Journey Began

Before Boujonnen Foundation expanded its programs, community members in Anba Mòn recognized the importance of working together to strengthen local agriculture and improve food security.

A.P.A.M. was established to support farming families by promoting collaboration, knowledge sharing, and sustainable approaches to community development. These early efforts reflected a simple but powerful belief: lasting change happens when communities are empowered to lead.

The values established through A.P.A.M., resilience, partnership, and self-determination, continue to shape BNFI's work today.

The Need for Sustainable Solutions

Many rural communities in Haiti face ongoing challenges that affect agricultural productivity and household well-being.

These challenges may include:

  • Limited access to agricultural resources

  • Environmental vulnerabilities

  • Economic instability

  • Food insecurity

  • Limited opportunities for agricultural education

Without sustainable solutions, these barriers can impact both current livelihoods and future generations.

Working Together for Lasting Change

A.P.A.M. believes that communities are strongest when they have the tools, knowledge, and support needed to shape their own futures.

Through collaboration with local farmers and community leaders, A.P.A.M. focuses on initiatives designed to strengthen resilience and promote sustainable development.

Our Approach Includes:

Sustainable Agriculture

Encouraging practices that support productivity while protecting local resources.

Knowledge Sharing

Creating opportunities for learning, collaboration, and community problem-solving.

Community Leadership

Supporting local leaders who understand the needs and strengths of their communities.

Resilience Building

Promoting approaches that help families adapt to changing circumstances and future challenges.

Stories from the Community

The People Behind the Progress

The impact of A.P.A.M. extends beyond agricultural practices, it is reflected in the determination, collaboration, and leadership demonstrated by the communities themselves.

Families continue to share knowledge, support one another, and explore solutions that strengthen both livelihoods and hope for the future.

When communities work together, we create opportunities not only for ourselves, but for the next generation.

A.P.A.M. and the Birth of BNFI

From Local Leadership to Lasting Impact

The spirit of A.P.A.M. laid the foundation for what would later become Boujonnen Foundation's broader mission.

Following Hurricane Matthew, the relationships, trust, and commitment already established through A.P.A.M. helped mobilize emergency support and inspire new initiatives focused on long-term recovery and resilience.

What began as agricultural collaboration evolved into a growing movement dedicated to strengthening communities through education, economic opportunity, cultural preservation, and sustainable development.

Partners in Progress

Together, we continue investing in initiatives that promote resilience and create opportunities for lasting impact.
